A native of Charles Town, Allison Dodson is honored to represent the Mountain State while advocating for making our world a better place. "I know how important books and my education are to me, how important being kind and showing kindness are, and how important helping our environment is, so I want to inspire young people because they are the future", Allison says. “My initiative shows how you can help your community in more ways than one.”

Allison is a senior at Washington High School where she is President of the Student Government, an ambassador of the National Society of High School Scholars, secretary of the National Honor Society, a Delegate for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, and member of the National Society of Torch and Laurel. For her commitment to service, she received the Mayor’s Coin in December of 2022 and continues an active role with the City Council. An honor’s student athlete, she plays on the volleyball and softball teams.

Currently dual-enrolled at Shepherd University, she will graduate from Washington High School in the spring of 2024 with 38 college credits. Allison plans to major in Biochemistry with a minor in Cellular and Molecular Biology and pursue a doctorate in Pharmacology to study genetics and conduct research in cell development and alteration. She hopes to work for a pharmaceutical company or for the CDC to help cure and prevent diseases.

In 2020, Allison founded a non-profit organization, Allison’s Helping Hands — H.O.P.E (Help our planet Earth) to tackle some of the challenges society faces to ensure a brighter future for her generation. “If I can make even the slightest impact, I know I have made the change I would like to see in the world.”

Allison is available for appearances at schools, events, meetings and conferences. Visit here for more information about booking Allison at your next event.
